Behind-The-Computer Screen

HAPPY FRIDAY! Today’s blog is basically just going to be me talking for a little bit. I hope you enjoy getting a small behind-the-computer screen peek into my life. I love reading blog posts similar to this on other peoples websites so I thought I would give it a go. If you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.

Okay, here goes. Well, if you’ve been following my blog, you will know that I have challenged myself to ready my entire Bible from cover to cover. I am still doing that, reading a bit everyday. I am in Exodus as of right now. However, I am also in the middle of a novel. Most of you have probably heard of this book, The Help written by Kathryn Stockett. Yes, it was made into a movie. No, I have not seen the movie yet. I am a stickler when it comes to book movies. I very much prefer to read the book before I see the movie. My plan is to watch the movie once I’ve finished reading because so far, I am loving this book. I can hardly put it down once I get into it! I find myself imagining what it must’ve been like back in the late 50’s / early 60’s.

During that time, my grandparents would have been in their 20’s, newly married with a little one and living in the south, where my dad’s side of the family has lived for generations. I also find it very inspiring that this was Kathryn Stockett’s very first novel and she has received so much success from it. So inspiring! This book is absolutely going to be one that I will love reading over and over again!

I also just recently tried out a new recipe for orange cupcakes. YUM! They turned out very nice, but I believe the recipe will need some tweaking before I share it with you guys. Coming up with and trying new recipes is one of my absolute favorite things to do. Especially recipes that need a tweak here or there. That way, when they do turn out wonderful, I know it was because I worked at it and made the recipe better each time. I am also working on a delicious new dinner recipe and a wonderful summery drink that the whole family will love when those warmer temps kick in! I can’t wait to share more recipes with you down the road.

Can you believe that spring is right around the corner, I am beyond excited! Spring is definitely one of my favorite times of year since it’s usually very sunny, not too hot, and some of the most beautiful flowers bloom just outside my window. I just love it. Summertime is a favorite of mine also, as long as a swimming pool or nice beach isn’t too far off. I practically live in the water during summer. One thing I would love to do this summer is take a trip somewhere for a week or so. I’ve been thinking about this for a while now, probably since Thanksgiving. The destination has yet to be decided. Any suggestions??

Do you guys have any fun plans for this summer? I’d love to hear about them. I know my family loves to spend time at the beach and out on the lake during the summer. Fishing, swimming, grilling out, and being in the water during the summer is just how I grew up. Some of the best times of my life were during summer with my family and friends. Nothing like it.

Well, thanks for reading this slightly random blog today! Be sure to let me know what you and your family like to do during summer holidays in the comments below!

XO loves,

~Ray
