I hope you are all having a wonderful start to your weekend! This morning, the sun was shining and the birds were chirping away outside my screen door. I made my Cinnamon French Toast for breakfast and I spent the rest of the morning writing /working on a project that I am very excited about. This afternoon, I took a walk around our new complex and got some sun out by the pool. It is still too cool here to hop in the water, but I will be in the pool most days this summer I’m sure. So far it’s been a pretty good day! Now, let’s talk babies and pregnancy!
If you follow my blog, you will know that I just recently found out we’re expecting Baby H to make his/her entrance in October this year! It is such an exciting time and we are both over the moon. This is my first “bumpdate” during my pregnancy. Since I became pregnant up to now (11 weeks), most of the symptoms I’ve had haven’t really changed much. Luckily, the nausea has seemed to subside for the most part, which makes me a happy Mama. 😊
So, naturally I have been doing tons of research on what to expect, how to prepare, and what is “normal” during pregnancy. However, the more research I do, the more confused I get. If any Mama’s out there have any advice on great products vs. products I shouldn’t waste time with, please leave some info below! I would greatly appreciate it. Any blogs or YouTube vlogs on this topic would be great too!
Okay, so Baby update – Baby H is a little bit bigger than a lime right now according to my pregnancy app, Glow Nurture. That is crazy to me, when I started tracking how big Baby H was, it was compared to the size of a green pea… it’s growing so quickly! Every week something new is happening inside me. This is seriously one of the most special experiences of my life. It is so true – for this baby, we have prayed! (1 Samuel)
Mama update- I haven’t had much morning sickness at all. I was extremely nauseous up until about 2 weeks ago, but I didn’t actually get sick which I thank God for! Dizziness has been a real issue these last few weeks. If I stand to fast or even just turn my head quickly, it’s like the entire room starts spinning and I need to grab onto a wall before I fall over. Not fun. TMI – the constipation issue is definitely REAL!
I haven’t had many cravings, only one or two that have really stuck longer than one day. Sometimes I’ll wake up and randomly be craving homemade biscuits or some evenings, after dinner I want skittles, like I HAVE to have them lol. I have really taken to red meat lately, which I use to not eat much of. It’s like my body needs it. Lots of spaghetti, hamburgers and taco nights so my hubby isn’t complaining haha. I also have been wanting fruit every morning. Sweet oranges, plums and strawberries are my favorites these days.
I’ve experienced some aversions to certain foods that I wouldn’t have expected. I haven’t been able to stomach chicken, like plain salt & pepper chicken breast – I use to eat it prepared that way all the time… I just can’t do it these days. And ice-cream, now this is big one. Ever since I was little, I have LOVED ice-cream, but over the last few weeks I just can’t seem to get through 1 regular size scoop of it. I just do not want it anymore. I wonder if that will change as my pregnancy progresses…
There isn’t much else going on right now. I will probably be doing these updates every couple of weeks or as things change. I’d like to keep track of how things change and how I feel throughout this pregnancy by logging it on here. That way, if we are blessed with Baby H #2, then I’ll be able to look back at these logs and see what is the same and what might be different.
I will also be answering questions if you guys have any for me. I look forward to interacting with some of you mamas or mamas to be out there.
