More than once have I been in a conversation with someone and when the topic of whether or not they were going to Heaven came up, they responded with, “ I hope so” or “I think so.”
I’ve since asked myself, how could someone be okay with not being 100% certain that they are going to Heaven? My Bible compares this to preparing to jump out of a plane and “hoping” or “thinking” that you put your parachute on. Wouldn’t you want to know something like that for sure?
When I was thinking of what I wanted today’s inspirational post to be about, I couldn’t get this topic out of my head. So, that is what I’ll be focusing on today. I want all of y’all to give the answer YES with 100% certainty the next time you are asked whether or not you’re going to Heaven.
Here are a few verses from the Bible where it is explained how you will know that you have been saved.
To be saved means to be delivered from danger.
And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. (1 John 5:11-13 NIV)
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 NIV)
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12 NIV)
These scriptures clearly state that there is ONE, and ONLY ONE, way to get into Heaven. That is to acknowledge and accept that Jesus is God’s Son and that He came here to earth to die for our sins. Jesus conquered death by rising from the dead, not just for Himself, but for us. We no longer have to worry about going to hell after death because we have been promised eternal life through Him. That is good news!! Get excited about that! If you haven’t done so, repent and place your faith in Jesus Christ. He will give you eternal life and you can know that your eternity is secure.
Eternal Life through Jesus Christ (going to Heaven) is a GIFT. Eternal life in Heaven can NOT be earned through good deeds or bought for any price.
People who do not accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior are told clearly that they will NOT inherit the Kingdom of God. They will remain dead in their sins.
I could go on and on about this, but I think I’ll end this post here.
If any of y’all have any questions, please, don’t ever hesitate to ask me. I am still growing as a Christian, and I plan to always be growing in my faith. I would love the chance to discuss this topic further.
Lots of Love,
