My Favorite Halloween Movies ~ BLOGTOBER ~

BLOGTOBER #3

I am such a huge lover of family-friendly Halloween movies. I have never really been one to love a horror movie, but give me a movie about a friendly ghost or a hilariously haunted house and I’m down to watch them any night! So this list is pretty much all family-friendly movies. I will watch a horror or gory movie, but I don’t watch them over and over every year and they certainly aren’t my favorite. So there’s that. LOL.

I always have specific movies that I just have to watch during any given season, Hallmark Channel Movies are everything, especially during Christmas. But there are certain classics that just never get old. Those are some of the ones I want to talk about today. I’ll cover some of my other seasonal favorites during Blogmas this year! So be sure to come back for that!

Talk to me down in the comments! Do you have a favorite, must see Halloween movie?

Here are my favorite Halloween Movies!

#1. Hocus Pocus

I think this is probably at the top of almost everyone’s must see Halloween movies list. It is such a classic and has stars like Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker on the cast list!

Sanderson-Sisters

Hocus Pocus is the story of the Sanderson sisters and takes place in Salem, Massachusetts. The Sanderson sisters are known throughout the town for being the ones hung for practicing witchcraft many years ago. Then, some 300 years later a careless teenager finds himself resurrecting the witches! Needless to say, chaos follows! Hocus Pocus is by far my #1 movie to watch during the Halloween season!

#2. Halloweentown Franchise

I remember when Halloweentown first came out, way back when I was about 7 years old. It’s crazy to me how that was 20 years ago now! I have loved these movies since then and will probably continue to love them as my kids grow and are able to enjoy them with me.

Halloweentown follows the story of Marnie and her family. As a fresh teenager, she discovers that her mother and grandmother have been keeping a major family secret from her and her siblings. Follow along as she learns to deal with witchcraft, the new life it’s given to her family, and the obstacles it forms in her everyday life.

#3. The Haunted Mansion

I remember watching this movie for the first time when I was 12! I still love this movie. Eddie Murphy is one of my all-time favorite actors and this movie is just one among many of his that I enjoy watching. This movie has zombies, ghosts, creepy crawlies, and all the spooky feels you’d want from a family-friendly Halloween movie.

Haunted Mansion

Jim Evers is the #1 real estate agent around. He decides to alter some family plans and check out a mansion that he has been asked to sell. Well, he is with his family, so they all end up going to visit this mansion. As soon as those massive gates open, there is no going back!

#4. R.L Stine’s movies

These are some timeless family-friendly movies. I (again) grew up enjoying these movies and his books! I love that his books are still turning out fun, spooktacular movies. I’m sure I will be enjoying these movies with my littles as time goes on. I can’t wait to see Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween this year!

#5. All Harry Potter Movies

Okay, I know these aren’t exactly “Halloween” movies. However, every Halloween season, I binge on these movies. I love them and usually only watch them during October. I read the books back when they came out and I’ve loved the franchise ever since. Especially this time of year. I will grab a bowl of popcorn (mixed with candy corn of course) and sit and enjoy these movies back to back over the course of a few days every year.

There you have it!

These are 5 of my favorite movies or franchises to watch during the Halloween season. Naturally, there are many more Halloween movies that I enjoy, but these are definitely at the top of my must-see list.

Let me know in the comments if we share some favorites, or what your favorite movies are during this season!

Lots of Love,

~ Ray
