My Happy List

Do you ever have those days where you just don’t feel happy? Not that anything particularly “bad” is going on, you just simply don’t feel like getting up and going… like… AT ALL. I have those days every now and again and thought some of you out there might also. In this post, I’m going to share my Top Five activities on My Happy List.

These are the things I’ll do on those days where I just don’t feel up for talking to anyone and I just need to get my head back on straight so to speak. I came up with this list a while back, I guess you could say these are some of my favorite things. I’m sure everyone will have different things on their list, but this is mine.

I hope you enjoy My Happy List. Let me know if you have similar things on your “Happy List”.

#1. Baking/Cooking – When I get in the kitchen, it’s almost like the whole world just fades away for a bit. It’s like I go into a trance, I’m focused on cooking and my brain just kinda goes to sleep for a little bit. Especially on cooler days with a candle or two burning.

#2. Read/Write A Book – Sometimes I get lost in the words of God, my Bible is definitely my go-to on some days; other days it’s a novel or poetry. When I am reading or writing, I get so into it. My fingers fly across the keys or my eyes skim from page to page, being transported to a world that’s isn’t my reality. There is something so magical in that and I hope and pray that my littles will share my fascination with reading/writing.

#3. Playing With My Puppy/Being In Nature – I put these two together because often times when I play with my puppy, we are in nature. I love taking her for long walks or going to the park and just spending time with her. Dogs really are the best, they keep all your secrets and never ever judge you. 🙂

#4. Music/Dance – For me, this means cranking up YouTube and dancing around like I’ve done lost my mind. I love being silly. Often times, this happens when my husband is around because he will jump right in there and start dancing with me. We laugh until our belly’s hurt and I always, always feel better after our little dance parties. This is probably my favorite way to get my happy up when he is home.

#5. Word Search/Sudoku – This is definitely something I will turn to if I just need to be alone for a bit. I love the focus and determination these puzzles take. I’m not a big Crossword fan. More often than not, I just get confused, upset, and frazzled. Then, I just end up quitting those. But word searches or Sudoku puzzles… I could do them for hours. And I often do, especially when it is sunny, I’ll lay out and get my tan on!

Let me know what’s on your list! I would love to know if anyone out there enjoys some of the same activities as me!

Lots of Love,

~ Ray
