I want to say a huge THANK YOU to her for nominating me! Putting my name out there for her community to see means heaps and bounds in my book! So thank you, thank you, thank you!

Now, for the seven things about me. I assume this means random things, so here we go!

  1. When I started this blog back in January, I really had no idea what it was going to focus on or really be about. As life would have it, in February, I found out we were expecting Baby H. So, most of my blogging has been centered around that and just general life posts lol.
  2. I am a Christian. Proud to be. Born and raised in a Southern Baptist Church and I’d love to raise my littles the same way.
  3. I’m 27 years old, a wife, and a soon to be momma to our little boy. 🙂
  4. I love writing, especially when the weather is cold and I have candles burning, it just really puts me in the creative mood.
  5. I really enjoy summertime. Swimming, sand, beach, bathing suits, all of it… for about 1 maybe 2 months. June, July, MAYBE part of August should be the only summer months IMO! I wish actual Fall weather started in September! After about 2-3 months, I am so over summer!
  6. I love sweet tea. Being raised in the south, sweet tea has always been, and will always be a staple in my home. Ice cold, refreshing, and always in the fridge!
  7. I got the absolute best of both worlds with my grandmothers. One is Mexican and makes the absolute best authentic Mexican food. Tamales, enchiladas, Mexican rice, refried beans, homemade tacos… just delicious!

My other grandma is a true GRITS (Girl Raised In The South) and makes the absolute best down home southern food. I’m talking biscuits, gravy, okra, cornbread, beef stew, you name it and she’ll whip it up!

There you have it!

Thank you again to Karen for my nomination! I can’t wait to read the posts from my nominees! Be sure to tag me when you post!

Love y’all,

~ Ray

  1. Ray, you made me hungry just reading your article. Mexican and southern foods, I’d be eating all day, every day if I was there. Yum.

Its amazing how reading these types of posts we learn so much, in a small amount of time about the people we interact with daily. These are up there with my favourite types of blog posts.

Thanks for nominating me, I’ll be sure to let you know when I drop my piece.

    Thanks again!

    Ivan

    1. Thank you so much, Ivan!
Yes, my family gatherings were always filled with some of the best food I’ve ever had. Simply the best.
I love reading posts like this as well. They’re pretty fun to do too!
I just have to say, you honestly have been one of my biggest supporters over the last couple of weeks and I can’t tell you how much that means!
You totally deserved that nomination and I loved reading your piece about it. You are such a talented writer.

    1. Oh yes. My grandmothers are such strong women, there’s nothing out there like them. Grandmothers are the best and those who get to have their grandma’s around best not take them for granted. They were here long before us and have seen so much more life than we know.
I love them more than anything. And I know I am very blessed to have had them in my life and still have them.
I’m glad you enjoyed this post! I love doing things like this. These “Who’s behind the computer keyboard” type posts are such fun.
      ~ Ray
