My Favorite Fall Spiced Coffee
Blogtober is here! I have decided to participate as much as I can this Blogtober. Please keep in mind that I’m due with Baby Boy Hart on October 23rd. So we will have to see how far I get!
I am very excited to kick off October with this challenge to myself. I have a lot planned and I hope you will all enjoy and engage as I post about some awesome restaurants, fun Halloween activities, fall recipes, a “Blogtober Blog Hop” and so much more!
When I first launched this blog back in January (almost 1 year ago!) I wasn’t sure about a lot of what goes into actually running a blog. I plan to continue this blog after Baby Hart makes his arrival. Some of my posts may gear towards baby/motherhood everything but I hope y’all will stick with me through the changes!
For today’s post…
I decided to kick off Blogtober with my recipe for Fall Spiced Coffee. Now, this is a SUPER simple recipe that I make at home for me and hubby almost every morning. It is nothing fancy let me warn you now lol… BUT it is delicious! As you will see, I use nutmeg and this taste can be very strong so I recommend starting with half. Just a tiny pinch, and go from there as you taste it. Also, sometimes I will add a little organic cocoa powder. This gives the coffee a sweet chocolate twist. Feel free to try it! If you have a fancy espresso maker and that is your favorite, that’s fine! I urge you to add a little cinnamon or nutmeg. It will bring all the fall feels to your everyday coffee!
I hope y’all love it! Let me know if you give it a go!
- 2 – 2 ½ cups water
- 2 ½ teaspoons instant coffee (my favorite is Douwe Egberts)
- 1 ½ – 2 Tablespoons light brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (maybe starts with half this amount of nutmeg, it gets strong quick. Add more to taste)
- ¼ teaspoon cocoa powder (optional)
- 3-4 teaspoons milk (your choice of milk) OR 2 teaspoons original Coffee Mate
Bring your water to a boil (I use a kettle, a microwave will do the trick though)
Place the coffee, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and cocoa powder (if using) into a large glass mug (I use a measuring mug)
When the water is boiled, pour it over the coffee mixture.
Stir until everything is nicely dissolved and combined, then pour in the milk.
Split between two and Enjoy!
I hope you all enjoy this recipe and make it time and time again. Thanks for letting me share my favorite morning coffee with you guys!
I felt like this was a perfect first post for Blogtober since I will probably be indulging in this coffee drink many mornings while working on Blogtober posts and doing all things “blog”!
Happy Blogtober to you all! Enjoy this season to it’s fullest. I know I will!
Lots Of Love,
